Slack Wax

Slack wax is a byproduct derived from the refining process of crude oil. It is a semi-solid to solid waxy substance that is extracted during the dewaxing process of lubricating oil. This wax is primarily composed of a mixture of saturated hydrocarbons, including both alkanes and cycloalkanes.

Light Slack Wax

Light slack wax typically contains a higher percentage of oil and has a lower melting point. It is commonly used in applications such as manufacturing matches, candles, and as a blending component in the production of various wax products. Its higher oil content makes it an excellent lubricant for industrial purposes.

Medium Slack Wax

Medium slack wax has a moderate oil content and a melting point that positions it between light and heavy slack waxes. It is often utilized in the rubber industry for tire and rubber processing, as well as in the production of emulsions, polishes, and coatings. Its balanced properties make it versatile for a range of industrial applications.

Heavy Slack Wax

Heavy slack wax contains the least amount of oil and has the highest melting point among the three types. This makes it suitable for producing fully refined paraffin wax, which is used in food packaging, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, heavy slack wax is employed in the manufacture of waterproofing materials and industrial coatings due to its durability and higher melting point.
